If your website feels out of date or is not bringing in customers, you might assume you need to start over. Often you do not. Here is how to tell the difference.
Signs a fix is enough
- The design still looks fine, but some information is out of date
- A form, button, or link is broken
- It is slow mainly because of large images
- Google cannot find it because of a setting or missing titles
These are usually quick, inexpensive jobs. You do not need to throw out a working site.
Signs a new site makes more sense
- It does not work well on phones at all
- You cannot log in or update it, or the person who built it is gone
- It runs on an old platform that keeps breaking or is no longer supported
- Your business has changed and the site no longer describes it
- You are paying a high monthly fee for a site that does very little
The honest middle ground
Sometimes the best answer is a small, clean rebuild of just the pages that matter. A focused site with a few clear pages is often cheaper than patching an old one forever.
Either way, know the price first
